How the Z-Configuration Works

The defining element of a Z-style locker is the angled intermediate shelf that divides the column into a smaller upper compartment and a larger lower compartment. Unlike the horizontal shelf in a standard double tier locker, this diagonal partition creates an offset that visually and physically separates the two zones. The angle also promotes natural convective airflow — warm, humid air rising from damp gear in the lower compartment flows along the angled shelf surface and exits through upper ventilation louvers rather than condensing on stored valuables.
