Stainless Steel Clean Room Locker

Hygienic Storage for Controlled Environments

The Stainless Steel Clean Room Locker is purpose-built for environments where contamination control, sterilization capability, and material purity are non-negotiable requirements. Manufactured entirely from Type 304 stainless steel, these lockers provide the corrosion resistance, cleanability, and particulate management that clean room and controlled-environment protocols demand.

Every surface is finished to a smooth, non-porous state that prevents particle entrapment and supports thorough decontamination. Welded seams are ground flush to eliminate crevices where contaminants could accumulate. Ventilation perforations, when specified, are laser-cut with precision edges rather than punched — avoiding the burrs and rough edges that generate particulate and snag cleaning materials.

These lockers serve as the transition point between contaminated and clean zones. Workers entering controlled areas change into clean room garments and store personal clothing in stainless lockers positioned in the gowning room. The locker itself must not contribute contamination to this critical transition zone, which is why every material, fastener, and hardware component is selected for clean room compatibility.

Ideal For

Trusted by facilities across every sector

Pharmaceutical Manufacturing

Pharmaceutical Manufacturing

GMP-regulated pharmaceutical facilities require gowning room storage that will not harbor or generate contamination. Stainless steel lockers with flush-welded seams and electro-polished surfaces meet the most stringent clean room classifications.

Semiconductor Fabrication

Semiconductor Fabrication

Semiconductor fabs operate at ISO Class 5 and cleaner environments where a single particle can ruin a wafer. Stainless lockers in gowning areas ensure that the transition from street clothes to bunny suits occurs in a contamination-controlled setting.

Food Processing & Packaging

Food Processing & Packaging

USDA and FDA regulations require food contact environments to use materials that can be fully sanitized. Stainless steel lockers in food plant changing areas support HACCP and FSMA compliance through their complete cleanability.

Medical Device Manufacturing

Medical Device Manufacturing

Facilities producing sterile medical devices need contamination control at every process step, including personnel gowning. Stainless lockers provide storage that meets ISO 13485 cleanliness expectations.

Stainless Steel Lockers for Clean Room and Controlled Environments

Clean room lockers exist at the intersection of personal storage and contamination control. Unlike conventional lockers that simply need to be strong and secure, clean room lockers must not generate, harbor, or transfer particulate or biological contamination. This additional requirement eliminates painted steel, wood, and most polymer materials from consideration, leaving stainless steel as the material of choice for facilities where environmental control is paramount.

Why Type 304 Stainless Steel

Type 304 stainless steel is the workhorse alloy of the clean room industry. Its chromium content (18-20%) creates a self-healing passive oxide layer that provides excellent corrosion resistance under normal clean room conditions — including exposure to the isopropyl alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, and quaternary ammonium compounds commonly used for surface decontamination. For environments with more aggressive chemical exposure, we offer Type 316 stainless with molybdenum content that extends resistance to chloride-containing compounds.

Surface Finish and Contamination Control

The surface finish of a clean room locker directly affects its ability to be decontaminated and its tendency to generate or trap particulate. Our standard #4 brushed satin finish provides a smooth, directional grain that facilitates wiping and visual inspection. For ISO Class 5 and cleaner environments, we offer electro-polished surfaces that reduce surface roughness to less than 15 micro-inches Ra, creating a mirror-like finish that virtually eliminates particle entrapment.

Integrated Gowning Room Design

Effective clean room contamination control depends on the design of the gowning sequence, and lockers are a critical element of that sequence. Our clean room lockers can be configured for specific gowning protocols — with separate compartments for street clothes and clean room garments, integrated benches for seated gowning, and pass-through configurations that physically separate the dirty and clean sides of the gowning room. These design options transform the locker from a simple storage box into an active element of the contamination control strategy.

Compliance and Documentation

Regulated facilities require documentation of materials, construction methods, and cleaning validation for all equipment in controlled areas. Our stainless steel lockers ship with material certificates, surface finish documentation, and recommended cleaning and validation protocols — reducing the compliance burden on facility engineering teams and accelerating the qualification process for new installations.
